Who is Zach Top? Meet the rising ‘I Never Lie’ singer lighting up country charts — age, hit songs, girlfriend, and tour details revealed
Zach Top is fast becoming one of the hottest new names in country music. Bursting onto the scene with his chart-topping single I Never Lie, the Washington-born singer has won over fans and critics alike. Earlier this year, he was crowned New Male Artist of the Year at the 2025 ACM Awards, where he shared the stage with stars like Eric Church, Blake Shelton, and rising talent Ella Langley.
Born Zachary Dirk Top on September 26, 1997, in Sunnyside, Washington, the 27-year-old grew up steeped in classic country influences. Legends like George Strait, George Jones, and Marty Robbins inspired him while he worked on his family’s ranch. By age five, Zach was strumming a guitar; by seven, he was performing in a family bluegrass band called Top String.
His big break came in 2018 when his heartfelt tribute cover of Spilled Whiskey in honor of Daryle Singletary went viral, catching the eye of respected producer Carson Chamberlain. In 2021, Zach moved to Nashville, signed a publishing deal, and released early singles like Bad Luck and There’s The Sun.
He stepped onto country’s biggest stage in July 2022, making his Grand Ole Opry debut with Cold Beer and Country Music, which later became the title track of his second album in 2024. This year, he hit another milestone — performing I Never Lie on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in May 2025.
Zach’s most popular tracks so far include Good Times & Tan Lines, Sounds Like the Radio, Beer For Breakfast, and In a World Gone Wrong. His upcoming third album, Ain’t In It For My Heart, drops August 29, 2025, continuing his collaboration with mentor Carson Chamberlain.
Off stage, Zach has been dating Amelia Taylor since late 2024. The couple made their red carpet debut at the CMA Awards last November and appeared together at this year’s ACMs. According to Taste of Country, Zach was previously married.
Fans hoping to catch him live will find him on the road this fall for his Cold Beer & Country Music Tour, which includes stops across North America with support from Jake Worthington and Andy Buckner. He’s also opening for Dierks Bentley on the Broken Branches Tour.
For now, there’s no word on UK or European tour dates — but if Zach Top’s meteoric rise continues, it won’t be long before he’s bringing his neotraditional country sound to fans worldwide.
