Trump and Musk appear to end feud with one telling action at Charlie Kirk funeral
President Donald Trump and Elon Musk have sparred publicly in the past.
President Donald Trump and tech titan Elon Musk seemed to make amends after their public verbal sparring a few months ago as the duo attended the funeral of 31-year-old political activist, Charlie Kirk, at a sports stadium in Arizona.
Trump is one of the many speakers at Kirk’s memorial service, alongside Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio among others.
In between the speeches, the camera panned to show Musk sitting down next to the president as they shook hands.
While clapping, Trump then tapped Musk on the knee and said, “All good,” Nicola Hickling, the founder of LipReader told Irish Star US. talking to Musk while the duo clapped.
“Trump then leaned in and on and said, ‘I think we should stop this and say something now,’” Hickling said.
“Donald turns to Dana and says, ‘Did you know about this,’” she added.
This is the first joint public appearance for the duo since May 30.
Musk, a vocal supporter and massive donor of Trump’s 2024 presidential campaign, led the Department of Government Efficiency where he axed jobs across departments to reportedly reduce federal waste.
Since June, the two engaged in a series of social media posts with targeted vitriol on X and Truth Social following Musk leaving Trump’s administration. The two sparred over the landmark Trump legislation, the One Big Beautiful Bill, effectively ending their bromance. Musk also criticized the Trump administration’s response to handling the convicted pedophile Jeffrey Epstein’s case.
Kirk was an ardent supporter of Trump who said he “inspired millions” and was a “patriot who devoted his life to the cause of open debate.”
He was the founder of Turning Point USA, a nonprofit organization that advocates for conservative politics in educational institutions, and was shot dead during a public debate with students at Utah Valley University on Sept. 10.
Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin, was taken into custody after a publicized manhunt that went on for more than 30 hours. The 22-year-old Robinson allegedly said he had “enough” of the “hatred” Kirk was spreading.
Kirk’s assassination sparked widespread condemnation from Republicans and Democrats. Since the killing, top Trump officials have been threatening vengeance against anyone who “celebrates” Kirk’s death. Dozens of people have lost their jobs or been penalized. The late night comedian, Jimmy Kimmel, was indefinitely suspended after Kirk-related comments.
